Naqib Ullah (detainee)

Naqib Ullah (born 1988) is an Afghan boy who was one of those detained by the United States in the Guantanamo Bay detainment camp. He was detained following the 2001 war in Afghanistan and had been released by January 28, 2004.^[1][2]

In a BBC interview Ullah described his capture:^[3]

"I hadn't done anything, but they suspected me because I was standing next to some men who had guns."

"I told them I was innocent. I don't even know how to use a gun."

Unlike a number of other child detainees, Ullah was housed in Camp Iguana, with two other children. These three were provided with English lessons, video games, and an exercise yard where their guards would play soccer with them.

In his BBC interview Naqib Ullah said he was treated well, not tortured.
